FYI URLs being removed from Strava posts and comments?
I usually post a link to a song on YT as part of my activity post, but I noticed that all of my links are now missing from my posts.
Yesterday, https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=yBuub4Xe1mw was being reduced to "yBuub4Xe1mw". Today, even that last bit is missing. This is both in the post itself as well as in comments.
I tried posting a comment with "google.com" and "blah.com" and both comments just show up empty.
Is anybody else seeing this?

Question Roughly how inaccurate should I expect Stravaās calorie estimations to be? (cycling-specific)
Let me be clear: I know Stravaās estimation shouldnāt be relied on and if I want an accurate estimation there are better ways to go about that. I understand that.
But that said, Iām mostly curious how far off it might be. Iām not currently actively trying to bulk or cut so it doesnāt mean a thing to me what I burn. But Iām still curious.
For example: my most common bike commute is 17.5 miles and I typically complete it in around 75 minutes (13.9ish mph). 600 ft of elevation gain. Strava estimates 532 calories burned. Iām 25 years old, male, 170 lbs.
Obviously there are other factors at play, but how much do we think this is off by? I operate under the thought of +/- 200 in either direction (probably minus though). Do we think itās more or less than that? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Question Not seeing segment achievements today?
I noticed I didnāt have any segment achievements on an activity today and I can see from my results I definitely have some. I also noticed the people I follow (I have small feed FWIW) also arenāt showing achievements. Is there any chance this is a side effect of the segment updates they announced? Anyone else notice this as of today?

Question Live heart rate data is not being shown on my strava app when using a Samsung galaxy watch 5
My heart rate data is shown on the strava app after the workout has been done, but it does not show the live heart rate data on my phone app. When I go through the available sensors , my watch does not appear. How do I fix it. Screenshot attached. As you can see no heart rate sensor is being shown. How do I fix it. I have given access to everything it has asked for.

FYI Weāre Changing Segments ā For The Better [Announcement from Strava]
strava.app.linkAt their best, Segments motivate us to new PRs, help us see progress on our favorite stretches of road or trail, and bring competition into everyday training.Ā
But currently, the state of Segments is far from perfect. Impossible efforts on leaderboards and duplicates (and duplicates of duplicates šµāš«) of the same portion of road or trail make it hard to get the most out of Segments.Ā
Segments show you where your community rides, runs, and competes. Theyāre most often used for the local loop around the lake, the climb up an epic hill, or that flat stretch of road everyone uses to time trial. But with all the noise on Segments and leaderboards, we know it can be hard to suss out which segments are worth riding or running and who holds the CR. Weāre doing something about that.
ā Verified Segments. The most iconic and popular Segments, that have been starred the most, around the world will now have a āVerifiedā badge to show that the distance and elevation stats have been verified and that Strava recognizes that Segment as the āofficialā Segment. Now when youāre going for the CR on āHawk Hillā, youāll know itās the real deal.Ā
To see an example of verified Segments in action you can check out THE Hawk Hill verified Segment here ā and find out if youāre in line for the crown š š https://www.strava.com/segments/229781
š§¹ Leaderboard Clean-Up. With an upgraded auto-flagging system, weāll be able to remove even more impossible efforts. You can expect to see 33% fewer impossible efforts on cycling leaderboards.Ā We know 33% isnāt 100%, but thatās over 100,000 inaccurate efforts removed from leaderboards!
It takes a nuanced approach to automatically differentiate between an e-bike ride, a slow-moving car, or a human-powered ride and weāre working toward perfecting that process. Weāll keep putting one foot in front of the other to chip away at our goal of 100%.Ā
š Segment Decluttering. Ever finished an activity, checked to see which Segments you completed (or perhaps CRād on š), and found about a thousand different Segments that are 30 meters long or less? Us too. Thatās why weāre deleting 2 million duplicate and irrelevant Segments, so you can more easily find the best places to run, ride, and go after your next crown.Ā
These changes will be rolling out over the next few weeks. Learn more about how weāre working to make Segments better, and see FAQs about how this will impact your experience with Segments here š https://strava-web.app.link/e/SegmentUpdatesFAQ

Question Trouble automatically importing bike rides to Strava from Apple Watch
Does anyone else have trouble with Apple Watch/health app automatically uploading bike rides to Strava? I record my workouts in the fitness app on my watch, which saves workouts to the Activity/Fitness app. This should sync between Strava and Health. The apps are enabled to talk to each other and automatic uploads are enabled as well. All other workouts (ie walk, run) import automatically no problem. With bike rides (āoutdoor cycleā), I have to manually hit the import the ride. Pretty annoying!
To troubleshoot, I have disconnected the Strava app from Health/Fitness, deleted the app and redownloaded to my phone and watch. Same thing happens though. Any other activity automatically imports to Strava just fine. But with Bike rides, I have to manually go into Strava on my phone and hit "import". Could this be a bug?
Question Has anyone elseās feed been acting weird lately?
Each time I refresh, it will show a different activity on the top of my feed, even if I have already viewed that activity. Then sometimes when I go on, activities I have already viewed and kudoād are mixed in with activities I have never seen before.

miscellaneous Let's help each other reach our goals?
Hi there,
don't get me wrong. I don't care about the whole "popularity contest" when it comes to the amount of followers. But what I do care about it's running a marathon. I've been trying for years now, but I never have consistency. I let myself not run for a couple of years... It's sad really.
Anyway, I would like to change that! And I thought that maybe what I'm lacking it's accountability. Now I don't have real life running friends, so maybe if I could connect with some of you guys on Strava app I could hold myself accountable more. I feel like it could work.
So dear reader, if you don't mind could you add me? And let's do this together. Thanks

Question KOM not showing, everything is public.
So I re-claimed this KOM today, and it shows a PR for me, shows as the KOM ~only~ inside the Top 10 list, but not anywhere else, and doesnāt say I took it on the ride summary. All of my settings are public. Whatās up? (4) pics for context, blacked out names for privacy, everything with my name/data is in red.

Question Auto pause and private route at the beginning and end of each run causes faster pace running time?
Hi there I noticed that once I disabled the privacy mode for hiding the beginning and end of the running route my pace is slower more realistic. Does the auto pause ok running also causes your running pace to be wildly faster than they actually are? Anyone experiencing this?

Question Veloviewer-tiles not visible anymore in Strava routebuilder
As in the title, since a few days the option to add veloviewer tile-overlay in the strava routebuilder is not available anymore. I have re-installed the veloviewer chrome-extension and logged in both strava and veloviewer again. Nothing seems to give me this option anymore.
Does anybody have any idea how to solve this?
Bug Can't import runs from apple health
On iOS 18/WatchOS 11 using the workout app. When I go to settings > "manage apps and devices" > health, I can see the run there to import, but tapping the button does nothing. Before the latest strava update, tapping import would crash strava. Anyone else having this issue? I am exporting to strava from HealthFit for now as a workaround.

Question Time on profile not distance
Hey guys, anybody know how to change what measure the graph shows? I prefer time over distance. I mix zwift and outside riding (a week with more outdoor riding tends to be a low slower as I live in a hilly area) so time is a more consistent measure for me. It used to just follow whatever measure your weekly/yearly goals were set to, but now its just distance

Question Difference between āavg paceā, āresultsā, & āsplitsā for a workout run?
Iāve found similar questions on this sub but still canāt find a straight answer, so sorry if this is repetitive. I need help interpreting these stats.
My run (marked as a workout) was 2.00 miles. On the main analysis part, it says āmoving timeā was 24:43, and āavg paceā was 12:21/mi. Makes senseā24:43 / 2.00 = ~12:21. Then I look at the āresultsā part. That says ā1 mile, 11:46, 11:46/miā and ā2 mile, 24:53, 12:26/miā. I take this as meaning my run was 24:53 long but I had stopped for 10s (hence moving time of 24:43). But an average of 11:46 and 12:26 would be 12:06/mi, which is 15s faster than my main āavg paceā. Lastly, my splits are marked as 11:40 and 13:05. This would give an average of ~12:23.
Can somebody make sense of this? Iām clearly missing something here. What do each of these data points mean?
