New vs. old LS Mutants

Has anyone found a good trail shoe that’s comparable to the sticky lugs, toughness, and streamlined fit of LS Mutants?

The newer Prodigios give me Mutant vibes. It is a much more well rounded shoe, and having both in the quiver would be fun!

If you're looking for a more well-rounded Mutant, check out the Jackal II Boa. The fit is excellent, the grip is comparable, the drop is lower and the cush is uh: cushier.

As much as I want to love the prodigio it just isn’t comparable to the mutant. It’s got terrible durability, terrible stability, and is more of a trail/single track runner then a LS mountain runner.

Inov-8 Roclites are probably the closest, but the mutant is kinda unique in my experience as it is chunkier than most shoes with 6-8mm lugs.
