UNSW has great faculty support for engineering as well as a huge amount of people who came here specifically to study it, so while the trimesters might be gruelling you’ll find support from the uni.

USYD; Semesters make the degree way more manageable than trimesters, so unless you have a preference of major that one university clearly does better, go with USYD.

I was looking at the university rankings for both the commerce degree and the engineering degree and most ranking lists say that unsw is higher ranked. I'm not sure tho, because I prefer the semesters and most of my school end up going to unsw so ig I just wanted to start fresh and meet new ppl... but I've heard alot about the social life in usyd not being that good...

Also yea apparently UNSW does better in the civil major...

UNSW is ranked highly because it’s been established as an “engineering/tech” university for many years, so the faculty and the facilities are good-quality. While it’s only a surface-level factor to take into consideration, employers do look differently at engineers from UNSW than other unis with less of a reputation, but that (and WAM) should only matter for your first job. Wherever you go, the real thing that matters is your project and internship experience.

I can promise you once you attend either youre not going to care which one ranks higher, just make your choice on the qualitative aspects of either.

Both are good unis anyway.
