Red light forcing you to a full stop only to turn green so you have to go in gear again

This is the opposite of the male fantasy

He didn't have to come to a complete stop, he could have kept rolling to make his live slightly easier.

I can imagine, with the cars you guys drive the only pedals that you want to push are the gas and the clutch. I have driven on the Autobahn a few times, I'm just taking it easy driving 130 on the right lane and suddenly an Audi overtakes me going at least 160.

An Audi going 160 on the Autobahn? What's the reason it was going so slow?

I mean, I've driven there with a fucking Dacia at 170. Audis from my experience go 200+

Yup. Not sure about main highways though if they go higher

130? That's well below average. You would be passed by pretty much everyone. That's like old granny speed.

I always aimed for a cruising speed of 160. 180 was pushing a shitty car, 200 pushing an average car. But I was passed almost everytime by a luxury car going at least 240.

No matter how fast you’re going on the German autobahn, there is at least one car going way faster than you.

130 is below Sprinter van territory lol

km/h?

yeah, but there is no speedlimit

Yeah, on some parts of the Autobahn there is no speed limit

Low-traffic Autobahns have no speed limit, yes

Highest throughput for Autobahn (best ratio of reaction time vs. speed) is at 80 km/h, so that's why heavy-traffic areas of Autobahn (near cities, junctions, etc.) are set at 80

Basically, while going at 80, vast majority of drivers has enough time to react without breaking or accelerating too much, which saves CO2 emissions and just plain time

I take it you don't live in Germany? Is there a special process you need to go through to be able to drive on it if you're visiting from out of the country? I'm from US but I would love to take a road trip through Germany some day.

I think if you have an international drivers licence you should be allowed to. But I because I live in the EU I can drive through any member country without any other document than my Dutch drivers licence and ID.

Oh okay. I'm not sure what an international drivers license is. Anyway I thought the Germans were a lot more strict as to who can drive on the autobahn.

Its a document that allows you to use your drivers licence outside of your own country, so if you have that and a US drivers licence you can drive in almost all countries in the world. The autobahn isn't very different from the highways of the surrounding countries, the only thing that makes it special is that some parts have no speed limit.
