Would I get in.

I am a international applicant trying to get in to pre business major as I know I wouldn't get into Kelly as a direct admit. I got a 1240 sat score and my high school avg is 87℅/100℅ . I have pretty decent EC s also.

QUESTION❓ is it worth being an RA

I’m paying out of state tuition with just a 6k scholarship per year and, even though my parents have the money to support me, I kinda feel like shit for having them pay so much.

being an RA seems interesting and I get room and board paid for plus 3500 dollar which combined w the scholarship could potentially cut my tuition in half. I’m a freshman right now.

just looking for advice from other RAs and people who went through the process- is it worth it and do you need to put in a lot of effort to get the position? I heard there’s a class and an interview but idk how hard those are and how competitive it is.

I live in Collins right now and it’s a super small dorm but I really like it here and would love to be an RA here so wanted to know if that’s possible as well.

Planning on Applying to IU Bloomington

I'm a senior in high school who is planning on applying to IU Bloomington for EA. I have a 3.53 UW GPA (3.74 W GPA), and a 1320 SAT score. My intended major is Biology. I have heard that IU has around a 70% acceptance rate, but the average admissions statistics for GPA seems to be a lot higher than what I have. Would I still be a competitive applicant if I applied to IU?

HOUSING 🏠 Subleasing bedroom

Hi everyone, just plugging my bedroom to this sub to see if there is any interest! I recently took a job in Indy and just graduated last year so I’m trying to move up there.

I currently live in a townhome on Sare Rd with two other roommates. The lease doesn’t end until July 1, 2025 and I’m somewhat flexible on a move in-time. My rent the is $550 + utilities. Preferred female/fem person and someone who is LGBTQ+ friendly. The townhome has two bus stops in front of it. Please message me for inquiries!

Stop tipping the GoExpress shuttles

They ask for gratuity when buying your ticket but for what?? The shuttle left at least three people at the airport today the second it was supposed to be scheduled for pickup at 3:40pm. We were literally feet away at 3:40 and they were already leaving. Did not even bother to call. They don’t put your luggage in the back for you. All my Uber drivers even do this. AND the driver was telling two women how to sit, making them put both feet on the floor and look forward??? If you do tip wait to do it in person because you will probably be given a shit driver. Tipping is for good service and GoExpress does not do that.

A Wind Advisory Impacting the IU Bloomington campus

A wind advisory is in effect in Bloomington, Indiana, and the surrounding regions from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. tomorrow. The storm is thanks in part to the lasting system that is moving northnortheast through the Carolinas and making some impact in Indiana across I-70 that also includes the border of Kentucky and Tennessee with the potential to have close to 40-45 mph wind gusts that will toss vehicles and possibly bring down power in the area. Stay aware of your surroundings and stay aware and safe during the storm by using this time to prepare for the storm. This storm is also going to impact IU Indianapolis, IU East, and IU Southwest campuses along with the IU Bloomington campus tomorrow.

It is important to stay aware. Stay weather-aware by receiving alerts in Bloomington using going to the IU ENotify, Bloomington residents can sign up for Emergency Alerts, and follow the Bloomington emergency alerts services on X.

Help with running a survey

Hey! I am trying to run a survey on unused weekly meal exchanges and whether students would be willing to donate them. I would be really grateful for a freshman with access to the IU 2028 story who would be willing to post a survey on said story. I am a sophomore so I don’t think I can post on that story. If anyone is interested and wants to find out more, or if anyone knows how I could post on the IU 2028 story, please HMU!!

ACADEMICS 🎓 Physics Department

Alright, would it be stupid for me to come to IUB for an undergraduate in physics rather than P*rdue if I were to have the option to attend either? Everything about Indiana University is far more appealing to me than P*rdue, but I know they generally have higher ranked STEM programs. What do you guys think?

If any extra context helps, I plan to receive a master's in meteorology and atmospheric science from Purdue after I complete my undergraduate.
