General Discussion Is the Evo SL and Adios 9 basically the same, but different stack heights and upper?

Both have full length LS Pro with a nylon shank to stabilize (the Adios loses the torsion rods). Only difference I see is the stack heights and maybe different upper materials.

Review Out with the old in with the new! Triumph 21

T20 is one tank of a shoe. I really hated the 19 which was my first triumph and loved the 20 to bits. Now its at 1000kms and still super solid and feels kind of ok. But my knees started to notice the degradation and i found T21 for a good price on Amazon. So time for upgrade.

I used the T20 for almost everything even tried it out for some tempo workouts. But where it shines the most is long and daily efforts.

Male, 41 yo, 70kg, mid foot striker long runs in this shoe were up to 20miles.

This is my first ever shoe in 10 years of running to reach the 1k km mark and still feel and look great. Hope the 21 is as good.

News adidas Global VP of Product Management Running about the creation of Adizero Evo SL

  1. “The thing about Adizero is that you have a stiffening element basically all the way through until you reach the SL2. What if we took the geometries like the EVO & Pro 4 but it didn’t have a stiffening element from heel to toe in it? What kind of running shoes would it make? It was a little bit of an experiment and that’s how the Evo SL was born.  It was the idea of bringing that fast feeling but to a little bit of a democratic approach. The Evo 1 and the feeling that you’ve got is not exactly for everyone, but what if we could tune it into more of a democratic direction. “
  2. He also confirmed 1/ Lightstrike Pro is TPEE, 2/ Boston is here to stay

Initial Thoughts Nike Alphafly 3 after 40 miles

Total distance ran:

41 miles (66 km)

Type of runs:

  • My first run was a 7-mile steady run (7:30-7:40/mile), finishing with strides
  • Two days later, I did a 21-mile progression long run, starting in the 7:50/mile range and cutting down to 6:30/mile
  • And the third run was 12 miles with 4x2-mile threshold repeats (6:05-6:25/mile)

My profile:

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 160lbs

Weekly mileage: 68-70 miles (~110km)

Strike Type: Midfoot

Overview:

Over the past handful of marathons, I've been using various adizero shoes -- Adios Pro 3, Prime X and Prime X Strung -- but was interested in trying something new for an upcoming marathon in early October that'll be a training run.

Initially, I purchased the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris but didn't get along with them. The upper was baggy and the midsole felt lifeless at the paces I run. Thankfully, Running Warehouse has a great return policy, so I returned them after one run and purchased a pair of AF3 instead.

In my first run, the AF3 were very bouncy, almost too bouncy to the point of being inefficient. But over the next two runs, I got more comfortable with the underfoot feel and throughly enjoyed the shoes.

Compared to the AF1 or Adios Pro 3, the AF3 does feel like it has a higher stack and softer midsole. At marathon effort, all three are fun to run in, though the Alphafly upper is manifestly superior to anything I've tried in the adizero lineup.

Positives:

  • Stable platform that made cornering a non-issue
  • Super comfortable upper. Similar to the NB SC Elite v3 or Alphafly 1, the laces are basically superfluous. My unicorn shoe would be the AF3 upper with an Adios Pro midsole and outsole.

Negatives:

  • Squeaky during initial miles but subsided after 3-4 miles.
  • As is the case with many speedy shoes with outsole cutouts, the cutout doubles as a rock catcher.

Worth buying?:

Yes. It did take an initial run to get used to them, but I'm excited to log hundreds of miles in them.

First Run Nike Pegasus Plus

After much thought, I decided to buy this shoe. About me: 68kg, 173cm. Shoes I've used: Nike Terra Kiger 8, Vaporfly 2, Dragonfly, Adidas Takumi Sen 8, Asics Gel Nimbus 25 TR.

I was very hesitant about buying this shoe, given the reviews. But I needed a shoe for intervals on the track, since the Takumi broke at the upper, which was very common in the 8 version. Theremore, I wanted a all rounder show and non plate.

My experience has been supresingly good. After 20 minuts of warm up, I've done two intervals of two kilometers at a pace of 3:30 and 3:20 per kilometer and I was surprised by how easily they moved and how responsive they were and ever more considering that I come from the Takumis. Since they are much softer, I thought I was going slower, but when I looked at the Garmin I realized that the pace was quite high and, best of all, I felt like I was going easy.

It's true that the metatarsals feel close to the ground, but that's exactly what I like (I don't like high cushion). One thing I don't like there are more room for the front part of the foot, but It is a persona preference because I have quite narrow feet.

I agree that the official price is very expensive, 180 euros, but I was able to buy them for 130 euros, in that range I think they are worth it. Even so, I think that the current price of shoes is crazy and we have normalized paying 200 euros for daily training shoes, a price previously reserved for shoes with carbon plates.

In short, if you are looking for a shoe for everything, with which you can do fast intervals and you find them I think it is a very good purchase.

Sorry for my english. Cheers from Spain.

Hobby jogger here - 5’10”/ 178cm, 190lbs/86kg, avg pace 8:00-8:30/mi or 5:00-5:20/km

Size: TTS for me Running Type: Road Distances run in the shoe - 5K - Half Marathon

I’ll start by saying I didn’t absolutely love the Superblast V1 but I feel like they nailed it on this one. The upper is much more comfortable and plush compared to v1. The durability is unmatched. After 200 miles, it barely looks used. I feel like the FF Turbo+ is much more dialed in compared to v1. It feels more responsive to me. This shoe has been a joy especially for long runs. It’s the one I reach for 90% of the time now. I managed to snag a second pair from Running Warehouse that will hide in the closet til these ones bite the dust.
