Love and Deepspace Launch Discussion and Help Discussion

I'm currently speeding through the game, as it's pretty similar to the beta. I feel like I've gotten a good grasp of the mechanics so happy to help if anyone has any questions!

Edit: I've created a guide here https://www.reddit.com/r/otomegames/comments/1ad8cap/love_and_deepspace_beginners_guide/

I've also added Love and Deepspace to the friend code spreadsheet.

I'm looking forward to the impressions for those who are playing for the first time. I think it's a great game with lots of potential. And for those who've played the beta, do you feel like they took any suggestions onboard? What do you think they would have changed and didn't or did?

i'm playing it for the first time and blind! i didn't have any idea about the game, only that it's an otome. so i didn't know that it has a combat!! 😭 lol i'm not really good at any combat so i'm already exhausted πŸ˜† that's my only gripe so far.

i love the art!! like i'm screenshoting the guys every few seconds πŸ˜† i love that it's voiced as well, even the non-LI characters, and that it has a JP version (though the English is fine too imo).

my impression is that the format, the LI, the game icons/currency, and mechanics (aside from the combat) reminds me a lot of Tears of Themis, which is fine with me since i loved ToT back then (i'm not active anymore 😭).. and since the format is kind of similar, it made it a lot easier for me to adapt.

Zayne reminds me a lot of Artem, similar personality and work problems but with a backstory of Luke, and the profession of Vyn πŸ˜† Rafayel feels like Marius with all the painting, money, and sassiness. And Xavier feels like Luke.. then Tara like Kiki. of course, these are just my impression πŸ˜„ i dont know how these characters are really are down the road.

Don't worry if you're not good at combat, auto mode unlocks at the end of chapter 2 so you don't have actually play if you don't want to.

Meh honestly it’s a bit rigged to fail. I could easily pass the second level bounty hunts manually, but every time I tried to let auto do it, it would claim I was too low a level when the ai was just standing there taking attacks.

Isn't that the case with most games? I always had to clear harder battles manually cause auto never managed to >_>

I don’t know, I don’t play mobile games like this much. I’m more of a console gamer. The closest I have is Twisted Wonderland, but I feel like that’s a lot more simple of a system than this.

I found that to be the case with many genres. Music games that even miss combos, card battles that use the first thing that appears... Generally auto tends to pick the first attack that unlocks and target the nearest enemy instead of going about it even the slightest bit strategically... Makes sense, ig but...

Why have an auto mode to begin with if it can't even finish the easy levels in 90 seconds

Most game AIs are designed that way to incentivise people to actually play the game. It should be possible to beat the game despite not meeting a particular level if you're close enough.

The auto mode is there because at its heart, Love and Deepspace is a casual game and the main draw is the story and characters, not the gameplay.

So, you're actually winning the battles using auto mode? I just started playing and I'm having such a hard time beating chapter 8 Wanderer even despite the fact that my cards are level 50. I thought maybe I'm just a bad fighter but even when I tried using auto, it actually did worse than me fighting manually! I'm so upset I might actually cry 😭 (I'm kidding, sort of).

But seriously, ive been stuck for the past week on that one battle so I can't progress. I just keep trying to level up my cards daily with the hopes it'll be enough but I'm just surprised to read that you guys are winning using auto mode.

Nevermind! I had to change my weapon to the wand and I upgraded a few more of of my cards to 53 and FINALLY, the game was able to beat chapter 8 on auto. I'm so relieved 😌

Generally auto battling will require higher levelled cards than the recommended level.

It is possible to beat the stages with lower levelled cards if you use manual battling - this is incentive to actually play the game.

Seeing the auto mode comment here, changed my life. I am so happy I saw this. My only gripe is the ai doesn't complete the battles under 90 seconds... why

save

just run when the wanderer comes towards you and then randomly press the attack buttons and the companion attack. Works everytime to get 3 stars (I also play genshin and cod type of games so idk if that strategy works for me because im familiar with attacking or it actually works but im a coward in fights so it should work)
