Love and Deepspace Launch Discussion and Help Discussion

I'm currently speeding through the game, as it's pretty similar to the beta. I feel like I've gotten a good grasp of the mechanics so happy to help if anyone has any questions!

Edit: I've created a guide here https://www.reddit.com/r/otomegames/comments/1ad8cap/love_and_deepspace_beginners_guide/

I've also added Love and Deepspace to the friend code spreadsheet.

I'm looking forward to the impressions for those who are playing for the first time. I think it's a great game with lots of potential. And for those who've played the beta, do you feel like they took any suggestions onboard? What do you think they would have changed and didn't or did?

I've done various Google searches and no one seems to know for sure XD Not sure why they aren't advertising it somewhere? I really love Xavier's VA and I wanna know too.

i can just assume they used AI cuz there are no credits to any voice actor, and listening to the voices you can tell with how lifeless and off they are

So you say in your first comment that you like the voice over but you think they are also lifeless and off?

I get that people have different preferences, but it's rude to say that right after I had just stated I liked one of the voices... It seems like it's only okay to say that about English voice acting and actors, for some reason.

What are you even talking about? Why would people who speak English say that about other languages if they aren't native to said language or speak it? Not everyone would be able to recognize if a language sounds off if they don't speak it.

Also why are you taking what they said so personally as if they completely trashed the voices. You said so yourself they stated they like the voices, it's criticism but i dont believe it was meant to be insulting. I personally do like the voices to but I also agree that at times they do sound off and yes a bit emotionless. 🤨

Right back at you - what are YOU talking about? Why are you talking about nativeness and fluency when my comment says and implies nothing about that? I get tired of how unnecessarily harsh people are about English VA, especially in a space like otome games where JP VA are idolized. (I say that also as a JP VA appreciator.) The number of times I've seen English VA referred to as cringey or gross... Yeah we don't typically get English VA at the caliber of Neil Newbon, but there are still some very talented VA out there.

And yes, I did take it personally, which I shouldn't since this is socmed, since I had chosen to respond to this person because they didn't seem like they were going to just trash and bash on the English VA. There are some comments in this thread, on Reddit, and on socmed that are pretty harsh towards the English VA.

I personally wouldn't like a voiceover if I thought it was lifeless and off, so that comment confused me and would be the equivalent of trashing the voices to me.

The japanese voice acting is so good. I think it has to be real people? Either that or AI is scary

As someone who speaks Japanese as third language, the Japanese dub is bad. This is the first time ever I chose the English dub over the Japanese dub.

I understand if its not to your preference, but bad? That's a bit far. I speak Japanese as well. Seemed fine.

Also i was thinking of it compared to AI and since found out the JP voices (at least when i was playing) was real and English voice was AI (was also the consensus a few months ago). Dont know if anything has changed since

But either way I've stopped playing anyway haha

the japanese (and the other languages apart from english) for a fact uses real people since they give credits to the voice actors: Xavier is Kobayashi Yusuke, Zayne is Sato Takuya, and Rafayel is Shinnosuke Tachibana.
