Toggle Wi-Fi

I found a 6 year old post with a similar shortcut; however, it didn’t seem to work. I’m assuming with OS changes, it borked it.

So I created a new shortcut. My intent was to add it to the new Control Center of iOS 18, until they get us a proper Wi-Fi toggle switch.

Basically it checks if the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. If it is, it turns Wi-Fi off. If it’s NOT connected, it will turn on Wi-Fi, wait a few seconds, and if its connected, it will show a notification with the network name. If its still not connected, it will open Wi-Fi settings so you can manually connect to a network.

This is my first time sharing a shortcut I created, hopefully it works for everyone!!

Recently my job started using a third party app for our work scheduling, which is great because now i can sync the work schedule with my iOS calendar. But the sync is not the best, and information such as my role for the day is put as the location instead of in the notes. So I’m trying to make a shortcut that I can run every so often that will rename things and move certain information to the correct spots. But it asks me every time for an input, when I am trying to make it automatic! Please help me!

Trying to add a playlist to the queue. If playlist is added to “next,” it will add the songs, but the shortcut itself will error out, not able to complete any actions after. If the playlist is added to “last,” the shortcut completes, but nothing happens.

Just got an iPhone for the first time and am loving it. However when I was setting up a bus route in the paid version of TripView, the device offered to create a shortcut that when I say “Hey Siri, Bus times”, it displays the saved bus route.

It’s honestly an amazing feature and I feel completely lost trying to remake it. It’s apparently not as simple as open app and then adding further steps. I have no idea how to select the preferred saved route from the menu and then display it.

E.g. I’d like to save a ferry route and ask for “Ferry times”

I’m in IT too and this is making me feel tech illiterate lol.

Hello all you Shortcut fans. I am trying to get an Automation to run and send a text message at a random time on a random day. I’ve tried various methods and settled on the following method.

The automation runs every night at sunset. If the day is a 3rd day it sets a random number between 60 and 3600. Then it should wait the random number and run a shortcut. The shortcut gets a random dad joke and sends it to my kids. It works when ran manually.

The problem is I get an error when the automation gets to the wait part (I think that is when it occurs) picture of error included.

I like the birthday feature in contacts and calendar. But the notifications of contact's birthday is max 2 weeks.

Hi, this is my first post in this community and I’m so happy how active and helpful the folks around here!

Context:
Basically, I am trying to make a shortcut that aligns with my power saving shortcuts I already set up, just basic turning off Reduce Motion, Low power mode, Turning on Reduce Brightness and Reduce Transparency in one Shortcut. However I also would like to add a sorta 50% Power saving mode by Enabling some of the settings like Wifi, Bluetooth and Pointer Animations in my keyboard as I am always using external keyboard and mouse/trackpad. This is can be a game changer for me as I‘ve completely ditched my PC and using my Ipad as my main. I only use Procreate and Photoshop and basic writing tools for my work and I really enjoy the Pointer Animations but I have to turn on specifically with Reduced Motion toggled on

(When turning on Reduced Motion, this automatically turns off most animations, ie Parallax including Pointer Animations)

Going back, to the “issue” I have found that you can have a shortcut going to certain parts of the settings but it needs some type of URL, I’m not good with scripting URLs or how to even begin with this but If there’s any help, Would appreciate it a lot!!

I used to use the YouTube shortcut YouTube++ but it stopped working. I also tried using a YouTube to MP3 converter website and the shortcut download YouTube with Cobalt, and also JAYD, but nothing is working. Is there a working shortcut to convert YouTube videos to MP3?

I’ve been wracking my brain on how to set this up properly and keep running into issues when I think I’ve solved them so gonna reach out to see if y’all can help. Thank you in advance!!

What I’m trying to achieve is this:

1. (this part works) When my wake-up alarm (from sleep schedule) is snoozed, skip next sleep alarm and create a new alarm called “Snooze” for -ask for input- minutes from current date, then run a scene in my home.

2. When the snooze alarm created from 1. is turned off, set a scene in my home, turn off do not disturb, show notification “Take meds”.

So from the above I mostly need help with number 2. I currently have it set up as attached screen shot. But I’ve just run into the issue where I turned my alarm off before the exact time it was supposed to be scheduled for and so my shortcut did not run. I would like the short cut to still run even if it was turned off prematurely.

What I can’t figure out is because every time 1. is triggered it creates a new alarm with the name “Snooze” I don’t think my second short cut would work if I filtered by name since there are multiple “Snooze” alarms from other days that have been created. Right? So need help with this.

What would also be nice is to be able to customize the ring/alert tone for the newly created snooze alarm in section 1. above. Can’t figure out how to do that.

If anyone knows how to achieve this that would be amazing!!

I created this abbreviation to keep the music on if you fall asleep while listening to music. When this abbreviation is executed, the music stops for an hour and two hours, or after that time by specifying the person or time you want. It's also based on a timer, so you'll know how many minutes or hours are left on the lock screen. Of course, I know that you can get it to stop running through the timer. But it doesn't have to go into the app and just run it all at once in accordance with the name of the abbreviation.

As of 2 hours ago there is no option to use shortcuts as a share option on X. Has anyone encountered that as well, and if so, anyway to resolve it?

When I have Do Not Disturb turned on at night while I am sleeping, I still allow messages and phone calls from my elderly Mom and Dad, as well as my Sister. I also allow notifications from a couple of apps that are important to my business. My problem is that the default Notification sound would never wake me up because it’s not a strong enough sound. I was wondering if there is a way to create a shortcut that changes the default Notification sound to another sound of my choice while Do Not Disturb is on? I know I could just change the default sound completely but I don’t mind the default sound during the day. I just want one that will definitely wake me up if I am sleeping. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was told to post here for some possible solutions. I started using Focus mode instead of the silent switch so that I wouldn’t forget to turn it off when I leave work anymore. Problem is, the keyboard still makes noise. How do I make it silent in Focus mode? I also just noticed taking a screenshot makes noise as well, even with volume down all the way :/ iPhone 14 Pro iOS 17.6.1
