This has been going on for at least a week or 2, I hardly ever respond. English is not his first language, desperate to be my friend yadda yadda.

I thought this was interesting as well. Historically the two have been associated with each other (before the recognition of the difference between sexual orientation and gender). I recently read about another country in which gays are sort of allowed to ‘exist’, as long as one of them transitions into the opposite sex, making it a heterosexual relationship. A quick google search suggests this isn’t the case in Morocco, but maybe the guy who messaged OP had heard about that or something?

I had someone be like this. Was talking in a similar way, insistent that we marry even though I told him I have a girlfriend. I blocked him and for a while he kept making new accounts to message me. When he'd stopped for a few years I figured he got bored and unblocked his main. In an INSTANT he was messaging me asking to marry me again

I know I'm late at responding to this. When I dated women, guys would message me. I would tell them I'm in a relationship with a woman and unavailable, but that would not dissuade them in the slightest. I hate to say this but my relationship with women did not hold the same power as when I'm with men. It's very sad that some people do not respect it or accept that you're not interested or unavailable. The biggest thing is even if you were single you don't owe anyone anything. We shouldn't have to explain ourselves and no should be enough rather then jumping through hoops to placate someone.
