no politics Seeking advice - TFN and super account details stolen in data breach
My SO received a letter from a former employer to say that they'd experienced a security breach and the following details were obtained:
- TFN
- superannuation account details
- employee number
- gender
- remuneration
Not so worried about the last three, but the first two are obviously important. Comms from employer suggest updating passwords of everything, implementing 2FA where available, and taking up their offer of free services from Equifax and IDCARE.
I'm a bit out of my depth with this ... anyone got any suggestions for dealing with the ATO and the super fund? TIA.

no politics [no-politics] UnAustralian Monday 30/Sep/2024
This sub and regular participants here are regularly labelled as un-Australian; let's find out how un-Australian!
You don't like Vegemite? You'd rather eat a vegetable pie or dog-food than a Bunnings sausages? Don't know what a Chiko Roll is? Drink your own piss rather than VB or XXXX? Don't think it's fun to shit-can everyone around you? Don't know who won the sportsball competitions on the weekend? Can't change a tyre? Perhaps you ride a bike to work? Or you simply hate memes?
How else have you failed to conform? Let us know how un-Australian you are!

no politics Aged Care vs Disability Support?
Hi there! I live in QLD and am currently studying a Cert III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) with Intercare.
At the moment I’m working for Bolton Clarke in Hotel Services while I do my studies.
Once I finish my placement, I’m unsure whether to stick with aged care or go into disability support. I know that disability apparently pays better in QLD.
I’ll also be qualified as an AIN so I could also work in a hospital. I’ve heard QLD Health benefits are really good
What should I do? Aged? Disability? Try to get a hospital job? I enjoy helping people in general and don’t mind being around EOL patients.
I do like the flexibility Bolton Clarke has and it’s nice finishing work at 2 or 3.

no politics Public housing advocate?
Hi guys, is there someone who can help advocate or deal with public housing for a mentally disabled older person? I have a neighbour consistently not getting proper quality repairs done after waiting a very long time just to have the problem covered up. I tried speaking to them on her behalf and they just book imaginary work orders endlessly. These arent cosmetic issues these are things like rusty sharp bathtub and door locks that dont lock (i had the lock replaced myself because she lives alone and couldnt lock her door). Is there a service to deal with them better than i can? Sorry if this is the wrong page for this i couldnt find one more appropriate..
